Iridium Satellite


Wow I just heard that the Iridium satellite crashed into a soviet satellite. How crazy is that? It’s bad enough that people crash into each other here on earth when we drive around in our cars but now space accidents? The very idea that two satellites would collide up in the debris belt is amazing to me. I think of space and I think of vastness. Of course there is a debris belt that orbits the earth and that is where the satellites collided. The Iridium satellite crashed into the russian satellite over siberia about 500 miles up I heard. That’s amazing really! When astronauts take off from earth and fly into outer space they must be extremely wary of that so called debris belt. Imagine seeing a satellite coming at you up in space? No thanks. Now if this were two American satellites colliding there would be a lawsuit somewhere!
